STUCO Activities

October 2019

STUCO helped with Red Ribbon activities during the week of Oct. 21-25. Each day had a different theme to encourage students to say no to drugs and alcohol. STUCO members sorted organized, and distributed daily gifts to students from Pre-K – 12th grade to also remind them to stay on track. They met during their lunch break and worked in teams to get this large task accomplished.

The STUCO had its largest fundraiser of the year – Glow in the Dark Items Sale. They set up at the elementary, junior high, and high school to sell glow in the dark items for the black out pep rally. They had a successful fundraiser and appreciate all of the support from the students and community. These funds will help to continue to support service projects as well scholarships for council members.

September 2019

The STUCO has been busy raising awareness for Suicide Prevention this month. They incorporated into the daily secondary announcements facts about teen suicide as well as ways to help. Suicide prevention posters that include the help hotline and number to text were made and hung up in the student and faculty bathrooms on campus. The STUCO members along with other secondary students also wore yellow to help further raise awareness and let others know there is hope.
